Crazy stuff going on in the world right now.

I am all for opening relations with Cuba.  Frankly, I am all for cheap places to vacation, rum, and cigars.  (alright, not a huge cigar guy, but when in Havanna)  Not the worst idea to have a functional level of diplomacy with Cuba seeing how Russia is all sorts of in a funk right now.  I could see Putin plopping a few missiles 90 miles from Florida to spruce up morale in Moscow.   Friends close, enemies closer.  Rum. Cigars.

North Korea.  Is that even a country?  We are allowing that province to dictate what we watch?  Get the fuck out of here.  I mean, I hate James Franco as much as the next guy, but I would prefer people have the option to not see The Interview because he is a no talent ass clown.

How is the school massacre in Pakistan not a bigger deal?  It isn't even on CNN.com today.  This isn't the most accurate number, but I think I saw 132 deaths.  132.  132.  132. 132.  If that happened in the US it would not only be news, but there would be a hunt for the people ...errr...terrorists unlike anything the world has ever seen.   Am I missing something?

We will have a new President in a couple of years.  I would prefer for it to be someone without the last name of Bush or Clinton.  Donald Trump for President!!!!!!  (I kid.  I kid.)  I'd vote for Bloomberg.  Bloomberg and Colin Powell.  That'd be great.  That's who I want.  Sign it up.

Oil is cheap.  Imagine that.  Say what you will about Obama, but he has been very kind to American energy.  The kind we can burn.  Cough.  Cough.

Lots of protests going on here in NYC and elsewhere.  My opinion here is irrelevant.  Nothing I write here will sway opinion or create change.  What I will say is that I think anyone who rioted, destroyed, or looted should not be put in prison.  They should be sent to Alaska to do manual labor.  We should have more places we can send people who commit crimes in regards to having them provide something back.  Is there a way we can punish people in a manner other than caging them?  There must be.  Anyhow, don't burn shit and loot.  It's not cool.

I am also pretty surprised the cop in the Eric Garner case wasn't charged with ANYTHING.  I mean, at the least there was some form of negligence there.  I think.  I'm not an expert.  It just...it looked wrong.

What Is the World Coming To?

I have been working on a huge project at work.  I could tell you about it, but I will wait until the ink is on the page before doing so. My point here is that I have been able to be creative with how I plan a huge event.  Rather satisfying to create a concept and work it through.   You know, better than cubicle living. I hung out at an ad agency last night.  I wish my company had beer taps, free food, a pool table, and bean bag chairs.  No really......that was amazing.  Was also able to have an hour long strategy session around my event - while drinking free beer.  Yeah, so that didn't suck.  At all.  In the least.  In any capacity.  Whatsoever.  I may ask if they need an intern. Bought tickets to a Brian Fallon concert.  He is the lead singer for The Gaslight Anthem.  It is in the middle of New Jersey.  I have no clue how I will get there, but I will manage.  I mean, how tough could it possibly be? ...

The Trump vs. Clinton Dilemma

The Trump vs. Clinton Dilemma is an American Dilemma I have always been into politics.  The board game "Hail to the Chief" was my favorite growing up.  (At the age of 11 I could name all 50 state capitals.  Today.....Hold on, let me try.  Tell you in a second......43.  Respectable, but an exercise that led me to kick myself over forgetting the capital of New Hampshire.)  I love political dramas like House of Cards and The West Wing (another reason I should have known the capital of NH).  When I was in college I majored in Political Science and nearly went to 50% of my classes.  On Sunday mornings I tend to watch Meet the Press. You get the picture I am painting here.  I enjoy politics. And I'll even tell you my political views.  I am a fiscal conservative and liberal on most social policies.  Our tax code is completely broken.  Immigration is a problem that can be fixed with cooperation and better border enforcement/let's ...

Save the Pandas

Let's get this out in the open.  I love Pandas.  They sit around all day eating bamboo, climbing trees, rolling around........pretty much enjoying life.  I dig that.  If everyone in this world were more like a panda it would be a friendlier, fuzzier place.  But alas, we humans do not resemble the Giant Panda.  Therefore, perhaps, we need Giant Pandas to remind us of how simple life can be.   (OK, I'm only speaking for myself here, but Pandas are simply a cool animal that I enjoy going to the zoo and watching for an hour - or however long they let me stand at the Panda reserve) So that is why this news report is so very upsetting to me: http://rockcenter.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/21/16964074-are-giant-pandas-worth-saving?lite&ocid=msnhp&pos=1 The idea that we need to be putting fewer resources into the preservation of the panda species.   I have some arguments here: 1.
